For around a month, David Dobrik has been conspicuous by his absence. His latest YouTube upload was on February 23, documenting a vlog from his time Down Under. Similarly, his last post on Instagram offered a throwback to his journey to Lake Tahoe on March 1. This absence, of course, has sparked plenty of speculation as to the reason for Dobrik’s disappearance from the digital world.
It’s feasible that Dobrik is having a pause from social media; he’s taken time off from YouTube in the past. December 2019 was such a scenario where he proclaimed he needed a timeout from vlogging to concentrate on relatives and mates, but after a thirty day interval, he was back to his YouTube career. Nevertheless, it could well be that he’s taking an additional hiatus presently.
It is highly likely that Dobrik has his hands full with exciting endeavors. Not only is he renowned for his highly-viewed vlogs, but in 2019, Dobrik even nabbed a lead role for the YouTube Original series Sugar Pine 7. Dobrik also possesses a podcast, View, which he shares with Jason Nash as both are headliners. So it’s rational to assume that Dobrik is concentrating on his current projects, just like any ambitious personality would be, and thus is not often found on social media platforms.
It is plausible that David Dobrik’s recent absence from the social media realm is due to his ongoing mental health. Previously, in February 2020, the influential YouTuber revealed that he was struggling with anxiety and depression and had recently been diagnosed with both. He even eloquently discussed his experiences during a video released on YouTube, informing us of his decision to get help. It could be, then, that Dobrik is by no means recovered and is currently enduring his own battle with emotional wellness – making his intermittence of posts quite understandable.
As Dobrik’s loyal followers eagerly await their favorite social media star’s return, it is evident that their enthusiasm for his content is ascendant. We can only hope that the popular influencer will re-appear on the web soon and give his beloved fans an insight into the events preceding his disappearance.
